Neputns Publishers
The Neputns Publishing House was established in 1997 as a non-profit organisation with the initial aim to publish the Visual Arts Magazine Studija. Now Neputns Publishers is among the most experienced publishing houses in Latvia, specialized in high quality books on art.
We collaborate with professional artists, writers, art historians and critics, editors and translators, who regard as their mission the creation of publications of high cultural value, helping our readers see and acquaint with, feel and become fond of art.
We choose serious, but at the same time attractive publications, intended as a contribution to Latvia’s cultural heritage. These range from catalogues for significant art exhibitions to major albums and research volumes, covering important periods or processes in the history of art and culture, including visual arts, architecture, cinema and music.
An important section of our publications is collections of poetry and essays on the history of culture, including translations of works by globally renowned thinkers, as well as memoirs.
Another branch of our activities includes educational series, such as, "Materials for Latvian Art History", "Studija Library", "Classics of Latvian Art". Most of our publications are being translated into English.
Neputns Publishers attaches great importance to the design and polygraphic quality of its books, always striving for content and visual conformity which is ensured through collaboration with Latvia’s most interesting book artists and the best printing houses. Our books have regularly received the prestigious annual Book of the Year Award Zelta ābele by the Latvian Publishers Association.
