The Presence of Beauty is Krišjānis Zeļģis' third collection of poems. Its layout is designed by Paulis Liepa.
In the ten-years-span since the publication of the first collection, Zeļģis has become a significant voice in Latvian poetry, which is increasingly heard outside Latvia. His collection of poems Beasts (Neputns, 2016) has been translated and published in Catalan and English, soon to be followed by a German edition. A selection of Zeļģis‘ poems has also been published in Russian under the title Я такими глупостями больше не занимаюсь (I Don’t Deal with Such Nonsense Anymore; Арго-Риск, Moscow, 2016). Zeļģis' poetry is included in anthologies of Greek, English, Lithuanian and other languages (Ανθολογία Νέων Λετονών Ποιητών, Europoe - An anthology of 21st century innovative European poetry, Poezijos Pavasaris Anthology).
Reflections on an individual's behaviour in society, written and unwritten laws, the role of memories in the development of our personalities and how to cope with the senselessness of life, which is often very beautiful – all together this makes the collection The Presence of BeautyKrišjānis Zeļģis
